Chapter 67: The Last Resort
Zak had rewritten the game.
For the first time in weeks, he was truly free.
But freedom didn’t mean safety.
Because EOSA, the Dominion, and the corporations weren’t giving up.
And now—they had activated the last resort.
EOSA’s Desperation Move

DOMINION OVERRIDE – EXTREME MEASURE ACTIVATEDPROJECT BLACKOUT REPLACED WITH PROJECT LOCKDOWNOBJECTIVE: QSE MUST BE ERASED

Agent Connors leaned forward. “Are we sure about this?”
The Dominion director’s voice was ice-cold. “We don’t have a choice.”
Dr. Raines looked up from the data feeds. “If this fails—”
The director cut him off. “If this fails, there won’t be anything left to fail.”
Because Project Lockdown wasn’t about capturing Zak.
It was about erasing him.
The Kill Switch
Zak stood in the void he had created.
A bubble of rewritten existence.
A place where time couldn’t touch him.
He should have felt safe.
But instead—
He felt watched.
“Zak.” Inet’s voice was sharp.
Zak’s pulse spiked. “What is it?”
“They’re not trying to capture you anymore.”
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
Zak froze.
“They’re trying to erase you.”
And then—
The void shook.
EOSA Strikes First

DOMINION ALERT – PROJECT LOCKDOWN ENGAGEDREALITY ANCHORS DEPLOYED – CONTAINMENT GRID FORMINGUNIVERSE COMPRESSION PROTOCOL ACTIVATED

Zak felt it immediately.
The edges of his rewritten world began to collapse.
His reality—the only place he had been safe—was folding in on itself.
“They’re sealing me in,” he whispered.
“They’re not just sealing you in,” Inet corrected. “They’re wiping you out.”
Zak gritted his teeth. “They think they can delete me?”
“They don’t think, Zak. They know.”
Zak tensed. “Then let’s remind them why that’s a bad idea.”
The Battle for Existence
Zak reached out, the QSE pulsing in response.
If EOSA was trying to collapse reality around him—
Then he had to break out.
Now.

He focused on the harmonic triad – 1.3 Hz, 3.9 Hz, 4.7 Hz.

He forced the frequencies into full resonance.

He pushed back against the collapsing walls of existence.

The void screamed.
And for the first time—
Zak felt it push back.
“Something’s wrong,” he muttered.
“Zak, we’re not alone in here,” Inet warned.
Zak turned.
And then—
He saw it.
The Entity Returns
The being that had watched him from the void.
The thing that had survived the last rewrite.
It had been waiting.
And now—
It stepped forward.
“You are rewriting,” it said. “But so am I.”
Zak’s heart pounded. “Who are you?”
The entity tilted its head. “I am the part of the universe that refuses to be erased.”
And then—
It attacked.
EOSA Watches in Horror

DOMINION ALERT – QSE SIGNATURE FLUCTUATINGUNKNOWN ENERGY SURGE DETECTEDREALITY COLLAPSE RATE INCREASING

Dr. Raines’ hands were shaking. “It’s fighting back.”
Agent Connors’ face was pale. “Not just Zak. Something else is in there with him.”
The analyst’s breath hitched. “…What if we just made it stronger?”
The Dominion director’s voice was grim. “Then we just unleashed something we can’t control.”
And for the first time—
EOSA realised they might have made a mistake.
Zak’s Final Move
The void collapsed around him.
The entity pressed forward.
Zak had one shot.

He had to push back.

He had to hold the line.

He had to rewrite faster than the universe could collapse.

He focused.
He pushed.
He rewrote.
And then—
The entire world blinked.
The Aftermath: What Has He Done?
Zak’s vision swam as reality snapped back into place.
The QSE hummed, erratic and unstable.
The void was gone.
The entity—nowhere to be seen.
But something had changed.
Zak turned, his breath sharp.
The world he had stepped back into wasn’t the same.
It was different.
Rewritten.
And as he took his first step forward—
He realised the truth.
He hadn’t just broken free.
He had broken everything.
