In a chaotic world of nothingness, Hector walked through the darkness, accompanied by a Level 6 deity who was also Oliver’s former classmate, named James.
They walked along, chatting as they went.
"Damn it, how far is that abyss Alex mentioned? Ever since that guy started following Lord Surtr, he’s been reaping all the benefits while we’re stuck with the grunt work of scouting and searching!"
"Heh, quit complaining so much. Ever since we teamed up with Alex and joined Lord Surtr’s crew, hasn’t our strength improved quickly? I’m already Level 7, and you’re Level 6—doesn’t that feel awesome?"
"True, but when it comes to benefits, Alex is still the one getting the most. He’s already Level 8. They say once he finds that legendary tree, Lord Surtr is even going to reward him with a treasure."
Hector and James were deep in heated conversation, completely unaware that a massive dark figure was quietly trailing behind them.
It was Oliver, his enormous serpentine body fully concealed by a stealth skill, blending seamlessly into the chaos as he silently followed the two, undetected by even the slightest hint!

At that moment, the legendary tree the two mentioned piqued Oliver’s curiosity. A legendary tree?
In this chaotic world, many deities were animal-based, and so far, Oliver had yet to see a plant-based one. What was this tree?
Even a powerful deity like Surtr was searching for it everywhere, so this tree must have some great purpose—perhaps its fruit or something else about it was incredibly valuable.
Oliver even thought of the legendary World Tree. That, too, was a mighty deity born in chaos, later used by Aether to support the universe and countless galaxies when creating the world.
"That tree has nothing to do with us, though. We still need to find that abyss—and that loser Oliver."
Hector rubbed the horns on his head, suddenly bringing up Oliver’s name.
This made Oliver’s heart skip a beat. After all these years, these guys were still looking for him?
<hr>
"Why is Alex so obsessed with finding that useless piece of trash, and why does he keep saying we can’t let Lord Surtr know?"
James couldn’t help but ask, his face full of confusion.
In his eyes, Oliver was an utter failure, having turned into a tiny snake—probably long dead in this chaotic world.
After all, this chaos was incredibly dangerous, teeming with native monsters that, while initially low in intelligence, grew quickly.
And some of those monsters even roamed in packs, posing a serious threat even to them if encountered—let alone Oliver, that weakling, all alone. He’d probably been eaten by someone already.
That guy Oliver, the deity he turned into, had such a small frame—his strength must be pathetic.
Compare that to Alex, who became a giant dragon. With that advantage, he progressed quickly, even gathering some old followers to build his own faction.
And now? He’d aligned himself with a powerful deity like Surtr, his future boundless, practically destined to become a figure in mythic history. Future humans might even worship them in awe.

"Hahaha, our biggest regret is not swallowing that loser in one bite back then. But the reason Alex wants to find him is because Alex got a treasure that can locate other treasures—and Stark’s image showed up on it."
"What’s that supposed to mean?"
"Isn’t it obvious? That guy’s hiding a treasure. Alex said that even though the deity this loser turned into is weak, he might have gotten some rare starting item—at least S-tier, on the same level as Jennifer’s item. If we can find him, kill him, and take that treasure, we’d be set."
"That loser actually has an S-tier item…"
"Exactly. I’ve only got a B-tier item myself. A weakling like Oliver doesn’t deserve something that good. We have to find him, kill him, and take it!"
"So that’s how it is… Alex’s item is really handy, huh? It can even tell what items other people have?"
"That’s an S-tier item too. But as for what it actually is, Alex never tells us—he’s always so secretive about it."
"Hmph, that guy’s so lucky. The deity he turned into is so strong, and he’s got an S-tier item on top of that."
"No matter how strong he is, he still pledged himself to Lord Surtr."
"But I heard the reason Lord Surtr is stronger than regular deities is because, when he was born in the chaos, he got an SS-tier treasure called the Sun God Sword… If we had an S-tier item, how far could our strength grow? A weakling like Oliver doesn’t deserve something on that level!"
The two of them spoke of Oliver with utter contempt, constantly calling him a loser.

Listening to this, a raging fire burned in Oliver’s heart.
It reminded him of their high school days—yes, back then, these guys were just as foul-mouthed, picking fights and bullying others wherever they went.
Now, in this other world, they were still the same.
"Fine. You want to kill me? Then don’t blame me for striking first."
Thinking this, Oliver didn’t act rashly just yet.
He stayed hidden, silently trailing the two of them, observing their strength.
Though through his system panel, Oliver had already confirmed that their stats were far inferior to his—honestly, the gap was huge.
Killing them would be a piece of cake for him.
But what Oliver was wary of was whether they might have some hidden items or tricks up their sleeves.
So, he stayed cautious, needing to observe a bit more.

The chaos wasn’t a safe place, and soon enough, the two of them were attacked by some wild deities.
After watching them fight three times, Oliver was finally certain they didn’t have any particularly powerful skills or items.
This reassured him greatly. He quietly picked up his pace, his massive body moving like a stealthy bolt of lightning, swiftly closing in on the pair.
The chaos was eerily quiet—terrifyingly so.
Oliver suddenly appeared behind James. His ferocious, gaping maw snapped open, sharp venomous fangs aiming straight for James’s head and chomping down hard!
As a Level 6 deity, James’s body was much smaller than Oliver’s. Oliver’s fangs alone were nearly the size of his head.
With that one bite, it was like crunching a piece of candy.
Crack!
A muffled sound rang out.
James’s body instantly shattered into pieces. The intense corrosive effect of the venom kicked in, melting his remains in an instant, turning them into streams of pure chaotic energy that flowed into Oliver’s mouth!
This was the guy who used to humiliate him with Alex.
And now, killing him was so easy!
No surprise there—Oliver was now a Level 9 deity. His stat panel alone outclassed James, a mere Level 6, by who-knows-how-many times, not to mention Oliver’s array of stunningly powerful skills and items.

The air in the chaos was thick with the stench of death.
Hector felt his body stiffen, an overwhelming chill washing over him. His bovine form whipped around, staring dead at Oliver!
Only then did he snap out of his shock, looking at Oliver in disbelief. "You… you’re still alive, Stark, you…"
"Yeah, I’m still alive. Didn’t you just say you’ve been looking for me everywhere? Well, here I am!"
Oliver’s massive serpent eyes glinted with icy light, his vertical pupils locking onto Hector. His enormous snake mouth parted slightly, spitting out syllables formed from primal runes.
Hector’s mind went blank with terror, and he stumbled back a step, his eyes filled with fear!
He couldn’t comprehend it—the useless kid they used to bully and beat up for fun, how had he become so powerful, so terrifying?
After all, Oliver’s current size far exceeded that of a normal deity.
Hector, with his bovine deity form, wasn’t exactly small among deities, but right now, his entire body was only about the size of Oliver’s snake head.
If Hector’s body were the size of a human, then Oliver was basically the size of a building!
What a horrifying size difference!
No need to even fight—Oliver just standing there was enough to fill Hector with an instinctive, overwhelming dread!
